Director of Engineering (Backend)

Budget : Up to INR 1.6 Cr

We’re on the lookout for a seasoned engineering leader to join a leading global product company in Bengaluru. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at building scalable systems, and has deep expertise in Java-based backend architecture. You’ll be joining a company where innovation is not just encouraged—it's expected. The current engineering team includes rockstars from Uber, Salesforce, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, and other top-tier global product companies.

As the Director of Engineering, you will lead a strong team of 30–50 engineers, oversee core backend systems, and play a critical role in driving product and tech strategy. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build microservices, scale infrastructure, and optimize system performance for millions of users worldwide.

Required Skills & Experience:
- 15+ years of backend engineering experience, primarily in Java/Spring Boot
- Proven leadership in high-scale product environments (e-commerce, travel, or fintech preferred)
- Hands-on knowledge of microservices, cloud architecture (AWS), Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and more
- Hands-on leadership in Full Stack Development, Data Engineering & Analytics, AI/ML, Design & Architecture, Fault-Tolerant Systems, and Cloud-Native Microservices
